The USS Constitution Museum celebrated 50 extraordinary years of growth and achievement as the history and educational voice of America’s Ship of State, USS Constitution with a Golden Anniversary Gala held at the luxurious Boston Harbor Hotel. The USS Constitution 1812 Marine Guard welcomed all guests for the evenings special occasion. After the arrival of the evening’s guests, the 1812 Marines engaged with attendees for photos during the pre-dinner cocktail hour.
This special evening also recognized three exceptional honorees who embody the values the Museum strives to champion – service, honor, and leadership. This year the Museum honored Lawrence “Larry” Kirby, World War II Veteran, Battle of Iwo Jima, Author, the Posthumous Recipient of the USS Constitution Museum Lifetime Achievement Award.
The 1812 Marines rendered honors to Major General Gary W. Keefe, The Adjutant General, Massachusetts National Guard, the recipient of the Charles Francis Adams Award and Paul E. George, Chairman, Board of Trustees, USS Constitution Museum (2014-2023, the recipient of the “Old Ironsides” Exemplary Service Award as they entered the ballroom for the dinner and awards presentation.
